Here for sale is a real rarity - one of only around 2,000 copies ever printed...
The book is in very good condition - still being still compact and with tight binding, but the exterior does have a few signs of its age. The covers are still black but have small areas of marking on the back. There is a slight bend to the book, plus some shelf wear and minor bumps to the edges. All consummate with the age of the book - nearly 68 years!
The spine is in excellent condition with the silver titles and logo still prominent and bright. Straight and with no creasing but there is the usual shelf wear to the edges. The book also has a slight roll, but otherwise it's looking great!
Inside the book is where the book shines, with white and clean pages without any marks or inscriptions. There is also only very slight browning to the text block. Another rare find. However there is a small section missing from the FEP. Please do check photos for exact condition
The dust jacket is a brand new facsimile of the first impression dust jacket published by Jonathan Cape in 1955. It still presents the book extremely well and would look great on the shelf.
