Japanese Natural Whetstone Shohonyama Ozaki Aisa 467g from Kyoto Japan

Ozaki is a well-known production area of Kyoto natural whetstones, located in the Umagahata region. It belongs to the “Higashimono” (Eastern mines) group alongside Nakayama, Okudo, Shobudani, and Ozuku—mines highly regarded for producing top-quality finishing stones.

Ozaki stones are characterized by a slightly hard feel combined with a fine and refined sharpening texture. This balanced hardness allows for clean, precise edge formation.

This particular stone features an elegant, pale gray tone typical of Higashimono. Test sharpening revealed a pleasant, slightly cushioned feel with excellent feedback on the edge. It generates a slurry with good consistency, enabling a precise and refined kasumi finish.

A well-balanced stone that offers both excellent usability and a beautiful final result.

Please note that these are not for beginner sharpeners since they're harder to use. These are natural stones meaning that every single one of them are different so my measured sizes are not accurate. This is a lifetime investment for people who live sharpening their knives and tools, do not hesitate to ask me your questions.”

When you purchase multiple items and wish to have them shipped together, please read the following carefully.

We mainly ship using FedEx, DHL, or eBay SpeedPAK, and there is generally no strict weight limit for combined shipments.

All purchased items will be packed into one parcel, and the actual shipping cost will be calculated based on the total weight and destination.
