SHAWNEE POTTERY SALT AND PEPPER SHAKERS

GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION

This adorable and whimsical set of  Shawnee Pottery Little Bo Peep shakers (probably two salt shakers. The set usually features Little Bo Peep and Little Boy Blue. Priced accordingly) - are in good vintage condition. The shakers, with their sweet painted expressions, stylistically look to be from the 1940s and were made in Zanesville, Ohio. 

The salt and pepper set is a wonderful example of the design, artistry, and craftsmanship of fine ceramic and Kitch production. 

STATS: The shakers stand approx. 3 1/4” high, and measure approx. 1 3/4” at their widest. Both retain their cork stoppers. The shakers are in good condition, no chips, cracks, or crazing. The glaze is shiny. No labels or stamps but definitely vintage SHAWNEE POTTERY.

ABOUT SHAWNEE POTTERY: The history of the Shawnee Pottery Bo Peep and Little Boy Blue salt and pepper shakers dates to the late 1940s or early 1950s, with some sources citing a 1949 or 1950s production. They were manufactured in Zanesville, Ohio, in the United States. The sets typically include Bo Peep and either a Boy Blue or a Sailor Boy shaker, and they are ceramic with hand-painted, under-glaze details.
