Phra Khru Sunthon Chetiyarak, or Kruba Pin, the abbot of Wat Phra That Doi Kham, revealed that Phra Kring Thanjai is a 502-year-old Buddha image created during the reign of King Kue Na, the ruler of Chiang Mai. It is revered by both locals and tourists who come to pray for good fortune, promotions, civil service exams, debt relief, legal dispute resolution, and recovery from illness. Politicians have also come to pray for victory in national and local elections, and most have had their wishes granted. Therefore, the vow is fulfilled with jasmine flowers, starting from 50 garlands or more. Most vows are fulfilled with 500-1,000 garlands, which the person fulfilling the vow must prepare the jasmine flowers themselves. The temple does not have any jasmine flowers for worship
