A silver-plated vesta case of plain rectangular form with a sliding cover and integrated striker edge. The exterior is undecorated and retains its original practical design. The sliding mechanism functions and the case remains a usable example of a late 19th to early 20th century match holder. It is in used antique condition with general surface wear, scratches and plating wear throughout. Areas of plating loss are present, particularly around the edges, along with a small split and deformation to the metal as shown in the photographs. The interior displays expected wear and darkening from use.
