The jewel is centred by an applied oak tree within a red enamel triangle inscribed "Oak Chapter No. 190", suspended beneath a blue enamel "FOUNDER" bar. The ribbon retains its original gilt triangular emblem and the reverse is stamped Spencer London together with Birmingham sterling silver hallmarks for 1912.

Research confirms this to be an early twentieth-century English Masonic Founder's Jewel manufactured by Spencer & Co, one of the principal makers of Masonic regalia. While the exact Masonic order represented by Oak Chapter No. 190 has not been conclusively identified, the jewel is an original hallmarked presentation piece and remains an attractive example of Edwardian Masonic regalia. Comparable Spencer-made founder jewels are well documented, although this particular chapter design appears to be uncommon.

The enamel is in good condition with light age-related wear. The original ribbon shows expected fading, creasing and minor fraying from use. The silver has a natural patina, and the pin, hinge and catch remain intact. Overall, it presents well for its age.
