Six Railroad Event Covers.  The "...Flying Scotsman has been described as the world's most famous steam locomotive."  It was the first steam locomotive to reach an official speed of 100 MPH in 1934.  It was retired from British Railway service in 1963 after having covered 2.08 million miles.  Purchased by Alan Pegler and restored it was moved to the United States to run promotional tours.  These six covers are from the 1970 tour (covering six of the stops) that ran from Texas to Green Bay, WI and across the border into Montreal.  These covers were produced by the Midwest Railway Historical Society in Chicago.  Each has a vintage computer card insert.  The Lot includes the first six pages of The Flying Scotsman history reprinted from Wikipedia.  About 8 1/2 x 4 1/4.  Bonuses.
