Original Edwardian Cricket Team Photograph with Trophy by J.G. Davies, Port Sunlight
An original early 20th-century mounted cricket team photograph, dating to approximately 1905–1916, showing a full team posed outside a pavilion with a large presentation trophy.
The photograph is mounted on its original embossed photographer's board bearing the J.G. Davies trademark within a decorative crest above the words "Port Sunlight". Jonathon George Davies was a well-known professional photographer working in Port Sunlight during the Edwardian period, adding excellent provenance and historical interest to this original image.
The players wear traditional white cricket clothing with club blazers and caps featuring an intertwined embroidered monogram. Although the club has not been positively identified, the photograph has strong appeal to collectors of cricket memorabilia, Port Sunlight history, antique photography and British sporting history.
The reverse is blank.
Good antique condition.
The photograph retains good contrast and detail throughout. The original mount shows age-related handling wear, light foxing and minor edge wear consistent with its age. Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.
