The Waverley Novels by Sir Walter Scott - full antique set of 48

Published between 1829 and 1833 by Robert Cadell of Edinburgh and Whittaker & Co of London

Hardbacks, half-calf and marble paper

This is considered one of two definitive editions - the "Magnum Opus" 48-volume set published between 1829 and 1833 by Robert Cadell, with new introductions and notes by Scott.

Significant foxing. No owner names or signatures. Some wear and tear as you would expect from books of this age but most are in good solid condition for almost 200 years old.

There are six volumes where the spine has come apart from the page block: numbers 3, 4, 7, 35, 36 and 41. These are probably fairly easily repairable but I would rather leave you as the owner to choose your own path as to whether to do so. Number 36 has the cover completely detached, and a tear between front cover and spine though they remain attached to one another.

I have only found one loose page (which remains in correct order) in the set.

Number 41 also has a tear between the front cover and the spine.

Books are 17cm high x 11cm wide.
