This is a "Boys Own" type period piece, published in 1948 and awarded to

"Malcolm Lewis Form 4C for Progress" in 1950 (as per frontispiece certificate)

Lots of early 1950s style full colour plates of machines such as The Gloster Meteor,

the SR/45 "Britains Magnificent Flying Boat", the Swallow DH.108, the Supermarine

Attacker, the Supermarine S6B, winner of the Schneider Trophy, Tiger Moth DH 82A,

Hawker Furies Loop the Loop, Puss Moth DH 80A etc etc. plus B&W photos of personalities

such as Geoffrey de Havilland, John Cunningham, Squadron Leader Waterton and other

test pilots.
