## Short Description

Antique hand-worked metal cup with engraved floral and geometric decoration, a riveted figural or branch-form handle, and a silver-gray tinned surface. Likely Indo-Persian or Central/South Asian, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century.

## Full Description

This antique metal drinking vessel or small handled cup features a rounded body, flared rim, and broad engraved decorative band.

The exterior is ornamented with repeating floral rosettes, leafy scrollwork, geometric borders, and hatched background details. A separately made curved handle is attached with visible rivets at the upper body and lower side. The handle has an irregular branch-like or stylized animal-form profile, adding to the handmade character of the piece.

The vessel appears to be constructed from copper or a copper alloy with a silver-gray tinned surface. Areas of warm copper color showing through the worn exterior indicate age-related loss to the tinning. The interior is also tinned and shows expected wear and darkening from age and use.

The engraved decoration and construction are consistent with Indo-Persian, Afghan, Iranian, or neighboring regional metalwork produced during the late 19th to early 20th century. The exact country of origin is not confirmed, so the piece is described conservatively as Indo-Persian or Central/South Asian.

It would display well as a decorative antique vessel, collector’s metalwork object, or addition to an Islamic and Asian decorative arts collection.

## Condition Report

Antique condition with substantial age-related surface wear.

The tinned finish is worn and uneven, with areas of exposed warmer-colored base metal, darkening, scratches, oxidation, and general patina. The engraved decoration remains clearly visible overall.

The handle is attached with rivets and appears secure, though it shows unevenness and wear consistent with handmade construction. The rim has minor irregularity and surface wear. The interior shows darkening, scratches, residue, and oxidation.

No major break or large loss is visible in the photographs. Due to age, material, and unknown prior use, the cup is offered for decorative and collectible purposes rather than food or beverage use.

Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description.
