An incredible opportunity to own a mid-century edition of the classic British travel board game Touring England, produced in London by the famous cartographers Geographia Ltd.
This is the highly sought-after 1950s colourway variant, easily identified by its vibrant yellow landmass contrasted against a deep blue background, rather than the standard red layout of the earlier 1930s sets (or the 2007 reproductions).
What’s Included in This Set:
• The Game Board: Authentic 1950s folding map layout with the signature blue background. It features the original publisher's Fleet Street imprint on the bottom edge. As you can see, it shows signs of wear along the edges and is slightly bent. There is even a piece of old sellotape on the lower left corner and top right corner of the board. Fortunately, the game board is clean - no scribbles or tears. When opened up, it is 49.2cm long and 37.5cm wide.
*All 32 Route Cards: 100% complete original deck! Every single city and town card is present, featuring the authentic vintage typewriter-style typography on naturally aged mid-century cardstock.
*All 4 Original Car Tokens: Complete set of the four original car-printed tokens slotted into their genuine, solid wooden block bases. Finding these intact is exceptionally rare!
*The Original Component Box: Includes the small admittedly very shabby original component box. The lid has a replacement cardboard side and old strips of sellotape on the top and sides. It also has rips. The box base has also got rips and it too has received that old sellotape treatment.
The Original Die: Includes the single, genuine 1950s aged-bone/casein style die.✨
*BONUS FAMILY UPGRADE: I've put a larger, modern, chunky black die in the component box as a free bonus. This makes it much easier for younger kids or smaller hands to handle and roll during family gameplay!
