This sterling silver hip flask was made by G & J W Hawksley and assayed in Sheffield in 1932. It has a plain rectangular body with rounded corners and a hinged bayonet cap retaining its original cork stopper. Hawksley was a well-known Sheffield maker established in 1840, particularly recognised for producing high-quality powder flasks, sporting accessories and silver hip flasks.

The flask is in good antique condition with age-related surface scratches, light wear and minor marks from use. The hinged cap opens and closes correctly, and the original cork stopper is present. There is a slight dent on the front, and a corner is dented.
