An Art Deco sterling silver pierced bowl by J B Chatterley & Sons Ltd, hallmarked in London for 1931. The piece has an oval pedestal form with a hinged lid, angular handle, and reeded border detail. The lid has an opening for a spoon and a shaped thumbpiece. The hallmarks are struck on the body and inside the lid. It is in good antique condition, with age-related surface wear, light scratches, tarnish, and small marks throughout. There is darker tarnish and residue to the interior. The hinge is present and working. It would benefit from cleaning.
