An original official souvenir programme from the 1962 F.I.M. Speedway Championship of the World Final, held at the Empire Stadium, Wembley, on Saturday 8th September 1962.
This superb programme celebrates one of Speedway's greatest annual events and features many legendary riders including Barry Briggs, Ronnie Moore, Peter Craven, Ove Fundin, Bob Andrews, Ron How, Mike Broadbanks, Björn Knutsson, Gote Nordin and many others.
Inside are rider biographies, photographs, official event information and a completed riders' score chart, preserving the results of the meeting exactly as recorded on the night over sixty years ago.
This programme comes from my late grandmother's lifelong collection. She had a passion for preserving Britain's sporting and cultural history, carefully collecting and keeping programmes like this for future generations. Every item I sell is part of that treasured archive, and it is wonderful to see these pieces finding new homes with fellow enthusiasts.

Condition
Good original vintage condition with age-related wear to the covers and edges, consistent with a programme from 1962. The riders' score chart has been completed in period. Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.

Every piece I sell comes from my late grandmother's remarkable lifetime collection, built over more than 70 years.
She began her career as an air hostess during the 1940s and 1950s, travelling the world and bringing home unusual treasures from every destination. Along the way she fell in love with my grandfather, a Swissair pilot, and together they shared a lifelong passion for collecting history, art, antiques and memorabilia.
In the 1960s she opened her own antiques business, a passion she continued until retiring at the incredible age of 92. She believed every object had a story worth preserving, whether it was a theatre programme, football programme, book, magazine or antique collected during her lifetime.
Today, I'm carefully cataloguing and rehoming her collection, ensuring each piece finds someone who will appreciate it for many years to come.
