I’m selling my fantastic early 1980s Tama Swingstar 3-piece shell pack, proudly Made in Japan (MIJ) at the legendary Hoshino Gakki factory.

Unlike standard Swingstar kits from this era, this is the highly sought-after SS8000 Series. It features clean, natural wood interiors instead of the heavy, grey, tone-dampening "Zola-Coat" paint. The 9-ply Philippine Mahogany (Luan) shells are completely free to vibrate, delivering a beautifully warm, resonant, open vintage tone with massive low-end punch.

Originally Artic White, the kit has been professionally updated with an eye-catching, high-quality Danmar Custom Green Sparkle wrap that looks absolutely stunning under stage lights. All shells and hardware are in excellent condition, making this the perfect kit for gigging musicians or recording studios. Comes complete with Pro-cases.
