A fine early twentieth century French travelling set with fitted leather case comprising eight solid silver gilt bottles and jars, a three piece dressing table set, a leather mounted spirit burner, manicure set, leather mounted mirror and smaller crocodile skin mounted mirror.
In terms of condition, the leather case is very high quality and in good order with wear commensurate with age. The handles of such cases often perish over time and this one appears to have a modern replacement handle. No key.
The silver gilt lids show some fading to the gilding in places and the occasional very minor dint. Each bears French Minerva's head hallmark and makers mark which is somewhat rubbed on most pieces.
The glass is largely good. One stopper is chipped and there is a crack to the hatpin jar as pictured, otherwise good.
Overall, the set appears to be complete and those faults aside, generally in good order for age and in comparison with most others.
Weight of the silver lids is 185g which doesn't include the silver collars that some of the bottles have.
