JP Limoges Hand Painted Cranberry & Gold Floral Scrollwork Chocolate Cup A
Beautiful
porcelain chocolate cup and saucer. Nicely hand painted in cranberry
with a fancy gold gilt Art Nouveau style floral and scrollwork border.
With gold gilt highlights to the handle. Marked on the bottom J. P. L.
France in green. This mark was used by Jean Pouyat in Limoges France
between 1890 and 1932. Also marked Decor J. P. L. France in red. This is
an overglaze decorating mark used by Jean Pouyat in Limoges France
after 1890, probably for a short period.
Has a few very small
minor stacking wear spots to the maroon color on the saucer. Otherwise
excellent condition with no post manufacture chips or cracks.
The cup measures approximately 2 3/4 inches wide including the handle x 2 7/8 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 4 1/8 inches wide.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
