Powered by Daimler-Benz DB 601 engines, it featured a roomier cockpit where the pilot sat in a raised, offset position to enhance forward vision, while the navigator/bombardier occupied a forward compartment with a floor-mounted bombsight and a machine gun in the nose tip.

Key specifications and variants included:

  • Performance: Top speed of 242 mph (389 km/h), range of 745 miles (1,199 km), and a service ceiling of 25,590 ft (7,800 m).

  • Armament: Typically armed with three 7.92mm machine guns (nose, dorsal, and ventral), with the P-4 variant adding four more guns (including beam positions) and extra armor.

  • Payload: Carried a standard internal bomb load of 4,410 lb (2,000 kg), though later variants like the P-4 utilized external racks (ETC 500) for additional ordnance.
