This was one of the ICONIC boomboxes that the Crown Radio Corporation invested heavily in audio engineering in the early 1980s ensuring their cassette recorders delivered powerful rich and immersive sound experiences. This model is a classic piece of boombox design from Japan, offering AM, FM, and tape recording capabilities, alongside SW1 and SW2 frequencies. This unit has a great sound to it on AM and FM with with the aerial fully extendable and in good condition. All the switches work and the tape is ALSO in excellent working order. The radio / tape switch looks to have lost an end but still switches easily between modes and I'm not quite sure what all the side wires, plugs and outputs are for but have just left them as is. The unit has a length of 38 cm (15 inches) a height of 21 cm (8.5 inches) 'not including the handle', a depth of 12 cm (4.5 inches) and weighs 3.7 kg without the 6 large D battteries it also takes.
