Yellow Amber Mason's Patent Cross Half Gallon Fruit Jar Circa 1870s

Yellow amber half gallon fruit jar. Embossed on the front MASON'S (cross) PATENT NOV 30TH 1858. Embossed on the base PAT NOV 26 67. Smooth base. With ground lip. Has a zinc lid. Circa 1880s. Catalogued in the Red Book #12 as 1939.

Condition is attic found. Has large areas of chipping to the ground lip, most probably caused in manufacture, and some very minor internal patchy haze mostly in the base. Lid has tarnish, corrosion, and a dent to one side. 

Measures approximately 4 3/8 inches wide x 9 1/4 inches tall.

This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
