SASS EMPORIA are delighted to offer this bright and colourful ceramic serving dish produced by the Company of Herbolzheim Keramik which was located in the town of Herbolzheim near the French border of south-west Germany. The pottery was founded in 1957 by Erich Locke and were celebrated for their mid-century decorative tableware, ceramic wall clocks, and kitchen tiles.
This deep walled oval dish is numbered 245-22 and is from a distinct range from the 1970's that included bowls, platters and ceramic clock surrounds that all boast strong graphic circular relief patterns in bright reds, oranges, yellows and lime greens. This dish is one such example predominately in a warm orange glaze that features two dainty scalloped handles on each side and a deep umbered black-brown glaze on its underside. In excellent vintage condition, this dish retains its original packaging as it was retailed nearly 50 years ago. A most exuberant decor that is set to be the colouful statement piece at your next seventies party!
