Description

A Turkish brass coffee pot in the traditional ibrik form, decorated with engraved foliate and geometric motifs together with silver overlay detailing.

The body has a flared conical shape with a long pouring spout, hinged domed lid and articulated folding handle. Decorative panels and border work are applied throughout in an Ottoman revival style.

Condition

General age-related wear, surface scratches, tarnishing and patina throughout. Areas of oxidation and verdigris are present around the hinges, lid and handle joints. Wear and losses to some of the silver overlay decoration. The finial/tip section to the top of the lid is missing. Interior shows age-related residue and oxidation. Minor dents, edge wear and manufacturing irregularities present. The hinged lid and folding handle operate as intended.
