The box is of traditional rectangular form and retains its original working lock and key. The rosewood exterior displays an attractive grain, complemented by the decorative mother of pearl inlay. It remains in good condition for its age with general age-related wear and signs of use. There is damage to one exterior corner as noted, along with surface marks and wear consistent with age.
