This impressive heavy plaque was issued for the 30th Anniversary of the Liberation from Hitler Fascism. The design features classic GDR / socialist symbolism: the hammer and sickle, East German colors, monument figure, and the official DDR-style emblem.

The inscription reads:

“30 Jahrestag der Befreiung”

“In Anerkennung hoher gesellschaftlicher Aktivitäten bei der Vorbereitung des 30. Jahrestages der Befreiung vom Hitlerfaschismus”

“Dresden 1975”

Translation:

“In recognition of high social activities in preparation for the 30th anniversary of the liberation from Hitler fascism. Dresden 1975.”

A very interesting and authentic Cold War era historical collectible from East Germany. Great display piece for collectors of DDR, Soviet bloc, socialist memorabilia, political history, WWII liberation anniversary items, or Eastern European historical objects.

The plaque is made of metal and mounted in its original red presentation-style frame/case. It is quite heavy and has a strong vintage appearance.
