Anonymous Technique: ENGRAVING [contemporary hand-colours] DESCRIPTION: A caricature of the serial novelist Le Rôdeur: a character, dressed in a monk's robe and wearing the large white cockade hat of émigrés, rides on a donkey, decorated like himself with the Order of the Extinguisher.

He is carrying a hare and birds, the spoils of his foraging.
