Vintage Mortise Door Latch

Up for auction is a vintage Russell & Erwin Manufacturing Company narrow, compact stile mortise non-locking passage door lock/latch.  The metal housing has a latch but no skeleton key hole.  The nickel-plated or polished steel faceplate measures approximately 3 by 0.875 inches in size, and the measurement from the center of its two screw holes is approximately 2.375 inches.  The lock was made by the Russell & Erwin Manufacturing Company, of New Britain, Connecticut.

The mortise lock is in great vintage condition, with just normal soiling and wear from use.  The internal mechanism has been tested, and works as intended.

At this time I am also selling a number of similar vintage mortise door locks, including one that is identical to this one, and will provide a combined shipping discount if more than one look is purchased and able to be mailed out at the same time.  Please check out these other listings if interested.
