Egg has been hand carved and polished, surface is not smooth. Has slight bumps and flats, also some dings and scratches. The polishing did not make the stone perfectly smooth, not did it remove all of the pits and dimples and other imperfections in the stone.

There are reflections on the stone of overhead lighting that look like bars of light.
