Authentic Zippo brass lighter featuring the highly collectible Barrett-Smythe T-Rex dinosaur design in raised relief. The brass case is dated H IX (August 1993), and the insert appears to be from the same 1993 period, although the insert date code is difficult to read due to wear. The detailed Tyrannosaurus Rex artwork wraps across the front face and is one of Barrett-Smythe's most recognizable prehistoric-themed Zippo designs. Included is the original black Zippo display stand along with the "Care of Your Zippo Brass Case" insert card.
This lighter has been fired and shows signs of prior use. The brass case displays patina, scratches, finish wear, and handling marks consistent with age. The insert shows soot and use to the chimney area, and the striker wheel currently does not spark. A new flint and routine maintenance will be required before use. The hinge remains intact, and the raised dinosaur artwork remains crisp and highly detailed. A desirable vintage Barrett-Smythe Zippo from 1993 that would make an excellent addition to a Zippo, dinosaur, Barrett-Smythe, or advertising lighter collection.
