The Sweet Sue doll is charming with her pink gown, brunette hair, blue eyes, and truly sweet expression. This size of walker doll was produced between 1951 and 1961, but based on overall style, most likely early to mid 50s. She comes with the chiffon dress, a crinoline, panties, and shoes. Her crinoline is wired at the bottom, so you can adjust it easily to hold out the skirt. She also has a stand, which the prior owner glued rubberized material to, in order to prevent slipping/sliding.
Doll Condition: I wiped the face, arms, torso, and upper legs down, but did not take off the shoes to examine feet or wipe them down (I have a hard time getting these types of shoes back on, I almost always oops). I did not do any other cleaning.
Clothing Her dress could really use a washing, and has faded from display over the last 70 years. I had a hard time getting the right color in my photos. It is pink but in a few photos it looks washed out and almost white. The first few photos are the closest. Her underskirt needs a snap (currently safety pin at waist), and there is a slight separation at the top of the sheet portion of the chiffon (top neck, front - see close up). Also, at some point someone replaced one of the sleeve ribbons, which do not exactly match.
Head and body She walks as intended (turn her head to the left or right for her to take steps). Her sleepy eyes work well, and are bright and clear. She is jointed. You will see from photos that at the arm sockets a bit of the plastic that goes inside shows, but if you move the arms you can get it back in (it probably needs a little more adjustment), and the arms function appropriately.
