Beautiful Pair of Vintage/Antique Brass & Iron Fire Dogs (Andirons)

A wonderful, heavy pair of traditional fireplace fire dogs (andirons), dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. These classic fireplace accessories feature elegant turned brass balusters topped with spherical finials, mounted on a sturdy stepped rectangular base with arched feet.

The tops and decorative visible fronts are crafted from solid brass, which has developed a lovely, authentic aged patina with minor tarnishing and historic surface marks that enhance their antique character. The undersides feature heavy cast iron inserts secured with period flat-head screws, providing excellent stability and weight.

Perfect for a functional traditional fireplace, a country cottage hearth, or repurposed as stylish, heavy interior decor (such as rustic bookends).
