Our soprano chalumeau in F was designed after the historical two-keyed chalumeau by Thomas and Mathias Stubenwoll (Vienna, c. 1730-35, preserved in the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum).
This chalumeau has a modern Eb clarinet mouthpiece (and reeds), which allows it to remain stable regardless of climatic conditions (temperature and humidity).
It is perfectly suited to the Baroque repertoire, with a fundamental chromatic range extending from F4 to Bb5, and from B5 to E6 thanks to the overblow (the note B5 is obtained with less pressure on the reed).
