Original Summer 1939 “Blue & White” yearbook from Los Angeles High School.

This yearbook is notable for containing the senior portrait and student listing of Henry C. Bukowski, Jr., later known as author Charles Bukowski. Bukowski also appears in the ROTC section and is listed in Company A Headquarters as a Sergeant.

The book contains numerous original student signatures and inscriptions from the graduating class. One inscription is believed by the seller to possibly be from fellow Los Angeles High School student Lynn “Buck” Compton, later a member of Easy Company during World War II. This inscription has not been authenticated and is being offered as-is for collector evaluation.

Condition is very good overall for its age. The cover remains attractive with strong embossed detail. Pages are secure and complete. Light wear is present at the spine ends and corners, consistent with age and handling. Interior pages show expected age toning along with student signatures and inscriptions. Please review all photographs carefully for condition details.

A desirable piece of Los Angeles history, literary history, and school memorabilia, featuring one of the most sought-after Charles Bukowski yearbook appearances.

Will be carefully packed and shipped.
