The frame is decorated with geometric and floral motifs and retains its original hand-drawn detailing. The simple construction and folk-art style are entirely consistent with period soldier-made or prisoner-made souvenir work.

A charming and evocative piece of wartime folk art with strong Afrika Korps and North Africa campaign appeal.

Condition is as found. General wear, small knocks and age to the wood as expected. Displays very well.

Recently sourced from a long-time collector in Berlin.
