Published in Leipzig during the late 1800s.

Row 1 (Top)

  • Opossum (Didelphys virginiana): Virginia opossum (modern scientific name: Didelphis virginiana). 
  • Koala (Phasolarctus cinereus): Koala (modern scientific name: Phascolarctos cinereus). It is noted as the "Australian Bear" (australischer Bär).
  • Fuchskusu (Phalangista vulpina): Common brushtail possum (modern scientific name: Trichosurus vulpecula). 

Row 2 (Bottom)

  • Riesenkänguruh (Macropus giganteus): Eastern grey kangaroo. 
  • Beutelwolf (Thylacinus cynocephalus): Thylacine, commonly known as the Tasmanian tiger or Tasmanian wolf. This species is now extinct.
