1998 Donruss RED Crusade NFL Blank Backs - Set Break! 

CONDITION NOTE: Nice and clean all around, no scratches, no refractor lines, a little rough cut on the left edge. Grades NM+. A beaut! Awesome find for the player collector who wants to have one of everything - to my knowledge, these Blank Backs have never come to market before - or for use as a placeholder in your collection until the real thing can come along!

This is one of my more exciting products that I have brought to market, so please read on! I am excited to offer singles for what I believe is the first time ever publicly offered, from the 1998 Donruss Crusade RED set for Football - except these are blank backed, for the 30 different players that were actually issued in packs.

 In 1998 with Donruss/Pinnacle brands filing for bankruptcy, they left a lot of unfinished business. In football just 30 cards were packed out in final production form. I recently discovered a group of 100 Crusades, the 30 that were issued in packs, but another 70 that were never formally released! I will be listing all as singles in my store. For the non-issued cards, this is the first and only chance to get a beautiful, coveted Donruss Crusade - IMO the peak of 1990's insert awesomeness. And for the issued cards it is a variation from an awesome set that has never come out before.

To be clear: The fronts are brilliant holofoil and look identical to pack-issued cards, save for the final UV coating/film that sits on top of the final production cards. The final version also has a bit of a textured snowflake pattern that these lack as well. The back is blank - pure white. As such these are production proofs that were never completed. As the company went bankrupt when they did - this is just how this batch ended up. Perhaps initially evaluated for a larger set, and when the company was in financial trouble they decided to shorten it up and just pick the best 30 for the first product (Leaf Rookies & Stars) issuance. I found these Donruss Crusades in an uncut sheet form and recently had them professionally cut down in an industrial machine shop - the third photo is what the complete sheet looked like prior to cutting. The condition on these should generally be in the Near Mint range, some cards have refractor lines and about half will have a small surface defect like a small scratch. I will try to note any defects above. These will make a beautiful addition to an advanced player collection. And you just are not going to find anything like this anywhere else as I doubt that full production cards for any of these were ever actually completed. Thanks for looking.
