This is an authentic, mid-century Soviet faience trinket box designed by famous ceramicist M.A. Levina.

Produced at the renowned Zavod imeni Kalinina (ZiK) factory in Konakovo, USSR.

Produced in October 1959 (Stamped "10-59" on base)

Hand-painted underglaze faience (cobalt blue and white)

Dimensions: Approximately 5.2 cm tall, 7.7 cm diameter

Condition: Pre-owned vintage condition. The main body and lid are free of cracks or crazing. The bird finial on the lid has a slightly broken/chipped beak (see photos). Tally mark '5' on the unglazed base ring.

Light age-appropriate glaze crazing present as is typical for mid-century Konakovo earthenware.

Hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue and white porcelain featuring a dove sculptural lid finial.

Hand-painted number '5' batch mark on the unglazed bottom foot rim.

Please review all photos carefully before purchasing. This beautiful piece is structurally sound, clean, and holds its glaze beautifully. However, it does feature a slightly broken beak on the bird finial. The break is a clean chip and does not impact the stability of the lid and a small chip on under edge of lid

It is priced accordingly to reflect this cosmetic defect
