Our client's pair of antique (19th century) neoclassical Roman Bacchus themed gilt bronze andirons (chenets) in the French Louis XVI style, depicts seated cherubs holding clusters of grapes. Each 24 by 20 by 10 inches. Apparently unsigned.
Cast in multiple sections, one mount is a bit loose and a joint of one at the side of one scroll was previously filled in. Light rubbing wear, scuffs and scratches.
