This high-antimony, high-tin alloy is engineered for maximum hardness and is primarily used as a strengthening additive when blending custom casting alloys. With its elevated antimony content, it allows casters to significantly increase hardness levels in softer lead mixes.
Each ingot measures approximately 2.5" x 2.5" x 1" and weighs about 2 pounds (± 0.25 lb), making it easy to portion and incorporate into precise alloy blends.
Based on composition calculations, this alloy carries an estimated Brinell Hardness Number (BHN) of approximately 30, placing it well above standard casting blends. Due to its extreme hardness, it is typically used as a hardening component rather than as a stand-alone casting alloy.
