US Civil War Model 1832 Artillery Short Sword. The ricasso is marked with an eagle, "N.P. Ames", "Cabotville" and on the reverse is "US", "1845", "N.W.P.". The front of the crossguard has "W.A.T.". The blade is straight, sharpened (very sharp, looks recently done), the tip has been blunted, a few nicks, light pitting with a little surface rust, and has age spots scattered throughout. No scabbard. Length of the blade is 18 1/4" (1 3/4" wide x 1/4" thick), and the sword is 24 1/4".
