Very Good!

This is a pair of large menuki (sword hilt ornaments) depicting long-armed monkeys (enkō), crafted in copper.

The dynamic composition centers on the monkeys’ extended arms, with finely detailed rendering of the body contours and fur texture, capturing a lively and expressive form.
The soft copper base has developed a calm, aged patina over time, giving the piece a rich and refined character.

Historically, long-armed monkeys symbolize agility, intelligence, and dexterity, and have been used as auspicious motifs in Japanese sword fittings.
In particular, the gesture of stretching their arms is associated with “drawing good fortune toward oneself,” making it a highly शुभ and meaningful design.

This piece is slightly larger than standard menuki, offering a strong presence.

A distinctive and characterful set of menuki with an appealing monkey motif.
