Step ladder (if needed)
Step 1:
Decide the Curtain Placement Before measuring. Are you planning to hang them inside the window recess or outside on the wall? This decision will affect your measurements.
Step 2: Measuring the Width
Inside Recess Mounting:
- Measure the width of the window recess from wall to wall at the top.
- This final measurement is the width you'll need for your curtains.
Outside Wall Mounting:
- Measure the width of track or pole (excluding the finials) Do not measure the window unless the window is the same size as the track or pole.
- This measurement is the width you'll need for your curtains.
See chart below and match your measurement with the ‘curtain pair pack width’.
Step 3: Measuring the Drop/Length
Inside Recess Mounting:
- Measure the height of the window recess from the top to the bottom.
- This final measurement is the drop you'll need for your curtains.
Outside Wall Mounting:
- Decide where you want the curtains to finish, at the window sill, below the window sill, or to the floor.
- Measure from the top of the track / pole to where you want the curtains to finish.
