The author was an art critic and lecturer at Senshu University, as well as the editor of Kogei (Handicraft) magazine. This booklet, published by The Society for International Cultural Relations, begins with an essay by Mr. Yanagi, followed by 19 plates with accompanying descriptions and explanations of "peoples", or "folk", Japanese houses, metalwork, pottery, paintings and textiles. First published in 1936.
Softcover. 7.5"x10", 55 pages, with 2 color and 17 black & white plates. Minor wear, but overall in clean condition.
