Founded in 1933, Air France became famous for its early transatlantic flights. It became one of the first airlines to operate the supersonic Concorde in 1976. Air France is the official airline of the Cannes Film Festival.

Originally affixed to steamer trunks and suitcases, luggage labels were subtle markers of status—signaling where one had traveled and, more importantly, where one had stayed. Today, they remain among the most collectible artifacts of early luxury travel.
