1. PRIME THE OIL PUMP: Never install a brand new oil pump completely dry! You MUST pack the new oil pump rotors with assembly lube or fresh engine oil before bolting it to the block. A dry start will cause instant internal scoring and catastrophic engine failure due to lack of initial oil pressure!
2. CLEAN THE OIL PASSAGES: Before installing the new VVT solenoids and sprockets, thoroughly clean the engine block's oil galleys. Sludge buildup from the old failing parts will immediately clog the screens on your new VVT solenoids, resulting in rough idling and instant P0011/P0021 check engine codes.
