This item is a piece of Korean celedon pottery featuring a makers mark on the bottom. Korean Celedon, known as Goryeo Cheong-ja, is celebrated for its distinctive jade-green glaze and exquisite craftsmanship. The surface often has a “crackle” effect in the glaze, which is decorative feature rather than damage or flaw to the surface. Though Celedon is often associated with China, the green-glazed ceramics from the Korean Peninsula are some of the most precious pieces on the market.
