The 494th Bombardment Group emblem Azure, issuant from sinister chief a cloud formation fesswise argent emitting a lightning flash or, terminating in pale above a demi-sphere issuant from base of the second, outlined and gridlined vert, in dexter chief a circle of six mullets of the second, all within a diminished bordure of the third.

Patch Right: WWII US Army Air Forces (USAAF) 7th Air Force shoulder patch. The insignia features a golden orange numeral "7" piercing a white five-pointed star on a blue disc. The 7th Air Force was activated in Hawaii in 1940 and served in combat during the Central Pacific campaign.
