Historic 1800s jacquard woven coverlet by weaver Samuel Hicks from his period in Chambersburg Ohio which was 1835-38. He began his career as a weaver in Lebanon Pennsylvania and moved West via covered wagon to Ohio and then Indiana. His small family lived in a log cabin he built in Chambersburg. His coverlets are quite rare and always beautiful. This example shows its age but is worthy of restoration. Good condition with lots of edge wear and fraying with scattered holes. Clean and fresh. Will need mending/reweaving. 78" x 80"
