The 1972 Barbecue Cookbook by Gourmet Intl HC is a vintage cookbook focusing on the art of outdoor cooking. This revised 2nd edition "was prepared for LIgget & Myers Incorporated through the facilities of the Benjamin Company Inc., 485 Madison Avenue, New York." The back cover proudly states "FREE with the purchase of one carton of Lark Cigarettes. The first printed page looks shocking. A 1970s couple laying with a picnic spread on a blanket, while they drink wine and smoke cigarettes. This page alone is worth the comic gold it provides.
Although the book does provide some recipes, it has a thorough guide of how to set up and use a barbecue grill, along with information on all the different types of foods you can cook on them, and various techniques for doing so.
(unpacked)
Good Condition - All pages and leaves present with defects noted. No torn, ripped or marked pages. Both pages 52 and 53 have a drop each that stained them (see photos). Hardcover edges and corners have shelf wear. Pages are yellowed.

All items listed here are original vintage to the best of my knowledge and research. Ask any additional questions as I am continually adding information to the shop.
Contact me with questions, concerns, or specifics on packing and shipping or package insurance. I'm happy to alter these factors to your needs and specifications.
I recycle shipping materials. Your purchase is carefully packaged in pre-used boxes and bubble wrap, wrapped in upcycled paper grocery bags. These fragile items require secure packaging. If you will be gifting the item, contact me so I can beautify the unboxing experience as much as possible.
If shipping rates seem high, contact me. I’m happy to double check package weight and dimensions or consider other options.
I can combine shipping (USA purchases only) on items purchased the same day. I usually ship within a day or two of purchase, let me know immediately so I can ship them together and credit the appropriate shipping cost.
I ship internationally through the Ebay Global Shipping Program and can't combine shipping on international shipments.
I use a rubric to grade the condition of books I’m selling. Since most of my books for sale are used vintage and/or collectible, most of the grades will be ‘very good’ and lower levels of condition.
Fine / Near Fine: Tight binding, clean pages, minimal wear.
Very good: Light shelf wear, faint soil, intact binding
Good: Noticeable wear, small tears & stains, yet firm text block. The average used and worn book that has all pages or leaves present. Defects noted:
Acceptable / Reading Copy: Visible kitchen wear, loose combs, writing or stains, still complete.
Common defects I encounter (and note) in vintage, antiquarian/collectible are bowed covers, chipped edges, dampstained, darkening or fading, edgeworn, shaken, and shelfwear. Vintage cook books in general sometimes have grease spots and splatter, clipped coupons or missing inserts, broken or missing comb teeth, tape repairs / rusty staples / loose pages. All noted defects are listed with the graded condition of the book overall.
