Antique Japanese iron tsuba (samurai sword guard) with scenic landscape design.
The decoration appears to depict a small hut or house in a natural setting with foliage and possibly a traveler or figure.
Tsuba were mounted between the blade and handle of Japanese swords to protect the hand and balance the weapon.
This example has a pleasing aged iron surface with natural patina from age. No visible maker’s signature.
